great while it works, which is most but not all the time...foot controller==fail

I got one of the first of these shipped to US, I think, in 2012. It has been pulling my 20' pontoon around freshwater since. Sometimes the power steering fails and I have to take it apart and try to convince the rusty (!) steering motor (small, geared up a ton) to keep going, with wd40, grease, and love. Even when power steering is failed you can still lift the shaft up off the driven steering cog and steer by hand, if you just want to get somewhere. The outer cable cover from top to bottom is much fractured, now wrapped more than once in quality 3M tape. I have had three "foot controllers" (two replaced under warranty), all failed catastrophically--- they just dont have waterproof switches or complete waterproofing, dont waste your money. Get the fob and put a floatie on it and try not to drop it in the drink. Other plastic bits from the mount have cracked off. But at 12 years, the motor itself is flawless and still pulls hard. booyah, mostly.

Durable as heck!

Had one sitting on boat unused for over 4 years, with no cover, exposed to the elements and it still works perfect. Spiral cord going from control head to foot had some cracking so I wrapped with electrical tape and it is good to go.

My first trolling motor

I am new to boating and on a budget. After lots of research, I decided to give my 17 foot bay boat a Haswing trolling motor. 12 v to keep down on weight. Motor is nice quality and mounted with no issues. Remote is paired and responsive. No blade noise. Overall I am pleased.
